Word Bending

A chance to move our bodies and tell our stories

How It Works

Both yoga and writing rely on one important thing: A spacious sense of
presence. No matter how many years you’ve been doing yoga or how many
years you've been writing, your joy and success in these areas
depends on your ability to breath, release and open yourself up to the
moment. This is where true creative freedom awaits you.

Our 3-6 hour long workshops alternate between writing and yoga practice. We start with a series of yoga poses to open and warm us up. Then we move into wild writing where the only requirement is that you keep your pen on the page and keep it moving. The point is not to write a masterpiece, but to loosen and open to our creative unconscious so we may find the rich and textured imagery within ourselves. We then take turns reading our work.

Class size ranges from 12- 20 people.

Word Bending appeals to lovers of yoga and writing. Beginners as well as
more advanced students will benefit from the poses and writing prompts.
while our main audience is adults looking for a chance to express themselves
through movement and language. we do offer workshops in the Corporate environments, the Schools and in Senior programs.
